MUSIC COMPOSITION
Subin Thompson is a music composer, singer, pianist and sound engineer. His melodic and sonic signature is influenced by a wide variety of music, from different classical traditions such as Indian, European and Oriental as well as jazz and folk. Equally inspired by Indian ragas and Western harmony, his music is a multicultural fusion of different styles. His music has often been described as ‘soulful’ and ‘straight-to-heart’.
SOUND ENGINEERING
Subin has extensive experience in mixing for world-class artists and bands like the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Melody Gardot, Youssu N'Dour, Hugh Masakela, Diana Krall, Yoyo Ma, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Niladri Kumar and T. H. Vinayakram. He received a special mention during the performance of the famed Ethno-jazz musician Dhafer Youssef. He has recorded several classical orchestras like Prague Philharmonic orchestra, the London Symphony orchestra, and BBC Symphony orchestra.
MUSIC PRODUCTION
With a background in music and sound engineering, Subin knows the best of both worlds. His massive knowledge in arrangement and orchestration helps him and those who work with him express their musical ideas with clarity and contentment. He has composed and produced music for ad films, short films, and television. He has recorded and released music albums and has performed in various venues including the prestigious Royal Opera House Muscat.
